iBUYPOWER Cosmic is a professional Rocket League team sponsored by iBUYPOWER.

History

2015

The team was originally formed under the name Cosmic Aftershock in early June 2015 shortly before the final release of Rocket League. The team’s original roster included three SARPBC (Rocket League’s predecessor) players: SadJunior, Gibbs, and Kronovi whom were all avid Rocket League Beta players. The team quickly rose to fame after winning several notable early tournaments. On October 30th, the team was acquired by gaming computer builder iBUYPOWER, and renamed to iBUYPOWER Cosmic.

2016

On March 29, SadJunior was dropped from the roster as the team made preparations for the first season of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS). Questions about whom would fill the open position were answered shortly thereafter, on April 1st, with Gambit, returning from retirement, and Lachinio being brought onto the team’s main roster. Also, Gibbs stepped down from the main roster taking on the roles of substitute and manager.

On July 18th, 0ver_Zer0 was moved from substitute to starter upon notice that Gambit would be taking a break from competitive Rocket League due to health issues.

In all, the team has been one of the most successful in the history of North American Rocket League. They are set to compete in the International Finals of the first season of the RLCS.
